Lightweight Mullite Castable Overview

The ZKM series lightweight mullite castable is formulated with porous mullite as the aggregate, combined with materials such as pure calcium aluminate cement, mullite micro - powder, and alumina micro - powder. It is a refractory casting material suitable for medium - to - high - temperature environments (1000 - 1500℃).

Features and Properties

  1. Refractory Performance: It can be stably used in the environment of 1000-1500℃ for a long time.
  2. Mechanical Properties: The compressive strength at normal temperature is 4-25MPa, and it has excellent flexural strength.
  3. Thermal Properties: It can resist rapid heating and cooling, and the linear change rate at high temperature is ≤ ±1.0%.
  4. Chemical Properties: It resists metal corrosion and has a uniform and stable composition.

Industry Applications

  1.  Industrial Kilns: Used as the working lining or insulation lining of kilns in industries such as glass, metallurgy, and petrochemical (such as the top/wall of reheating furnaces and aluminum melting furnaces).
  2. Thermal Equipment: Applied to the lining of regenerators, improving thermal efficiency and service life.
  3. Other Fields: Used as the heat - insulating protective layer of the linings of flue gas ducts and chimneys.
Construction Methods
  1. Mixing: Add 5% - 8% water and stir for 5 - 8 minutes until the slurry is uniform.
  2. Casting: Vibrate to make it compact and avoid aggregate settlement.
  3. Curing: Demold after curing at room temperature and avoid vibration.
