Zhuzhou Liling Kibing Glass Co., Ltd. upgraded its 600 ton per day Ford Blue glass production line, targeting the high end architectural glass market. This line has extremely high requirements for the corrosion resistance, thermal stability of kiln refractories and control of glass purity. Based on the production characteristics of Ford Blue glass, XZK Group customized an exclusive solution, using sillimanite bricks, zircon bricks and sintered AZS bricks to build a refractory system, and equipped with special low iron content mortar to ensure glass purity.

Implementation Effect:

In June 2023, the refractory masonry of the project was completed and the production line was ignited. Operating data are as follows: The expected service life of refractories in key parts of the kiln reaches 18 months, 20% longer than that of similar industry lines. By optimizing the material combination, the heat consumption of the melting furnace is controlled at 6200 kJ/kg of glass melt, 5% better than the design value. The color difference of glass products ΔE ≤ 1.5, and the defect rate caused by refractory dissolution is less than 0.3‰. With all oxygen combustion and lightweight insulation materials, the carbon emission per ton of glass melt is 8% lower than before the transformation.
